Beauty and Worthy Beholders

Beauty can lie
but in the right eye,
that of a worthy beholder,
it wakes and grows bolder.

Strength to admit rays of light
that will end dark knights
- to jailors of potential
we must not be reverential.

Secrets that hide deep inside
need not be feared or chastised
- only when they are realized
can their owners be prized.

Disney’s castles in the mist
teach us this, childhood gifts,
all too easily discarded
as we grow older.
