Walking the Walk with SoundWalk

Walking in Central Park don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing.

What is SoundWalk?

Whoa.

The app was constructed by a sound engineer and beta-tested with a sound designer. It’s currently in development in Fort Wayne, IN, as well as Chicago and San Francisco. The more SoundWalk branches out and reaches cities far and wide, the more exposure this will be for Ellen Reid and the NY Philharmonic.

And what’s more powerful than the universal sounds of composition? Better yet, why not spread the wealth of music during a time when people truly need it to cure whatever they may be going through?

As a Brooklynite I can’t help but think, what would my stroll through Prospect Park sound like? Would there be soothing sounds as I walk near the Botanical Garden and clashing, Fantasia-like sounds near the one and only CitiBike station?

SoundWalk should cast a wider net during this challenging moment and continue their efforts during the post-pandemic times. I imagine it will take a few years until live performance and theater can return to what it used to be, so keeping that spirit alive through an immersive, digital experience can really take the classical music industry to new heights.
