Why It Is Crucial To Have A Second Stream Of Income That Is Entirely Online

Having a regular job has its benefits. For starters, you get paid monthly, irrespective of how much you work. You have stability, and you don’t have to worry about when and from where your next check would come from. But if you are doing a 9 to 5, and focusing only on your job, you are probably putting your future self at risk.

Still thinking a job is the most stable way to make income? While it undoubtedly has proven to be a permanent income-generating method in the past, that may not be the case in the future.

Especially with COVID-19 forcing us all to work from home, companies are now learning the futility of conducting long, face-to-face meetings and spending thousands of dollars on office space, utilities, etc.

But my goal here is not to throw shade on regular jobs. I want everyone to learn from the COVID-19 situation and understand that the most significant risk today and in the future, too, is to rely ONLY upon regular jobs.

My goal is to help you become prudent and make better financial decisions for your future self. Or simply, help you understand to:

Most entrepreneurs and businessmen already understand this. They diversify their income streams. They buy several assets, stocks, real estate. They have more than one business, bringing them substantial income.

If one of their income streams fails, they don’t fall into an abyss of financial misery. According to researchers, most millionaires have, on average, seven different streams of income. But you don’t have to be a millionaire to have more than one income stream.

All you need is a laptop and a few skills. And you are all good to go! Here is why you must have an online stream of income along with your job.

No matter how good your company or your salary is, the truth is, you can still lose your job. Life is uncertain. Who knew 2020 would bring us COVID-19 and, along with it, a massive incline in unemployment. But here we are. I am not saying we are going to have another pandemic in our lifetime, but life can still happen.

People fall sick, companies shut down, performance declines, and people get fired. It could be anything. Even if all these factors are ruled out, having a second stream of income to fall back upon in hard times could be life-saving! Or, at least, it would give you peace of mind that you have a backup source of income if something goes wrong with your job.

Unlike a job, there is no limit on how much you can earn online per year, per month, or even per day. In fact, the more you work, the more you can get paid. Whereas in a job, it doesn’t matter if you spend your time in the office playing games or working like a madman.

You’d still get paid the same, with a few exceptions of bonuses, promotions, etc. The thing with earning online is that you will be in control of how much you want to earn.

You can even surpass the earnings from your job. I am speaking this from experience. I have managed to earn up to $1000 in one single day. People usually work for 30 days straight to earn this much, or even less, in their salaries. But there is no limit on online earnings. Set a goal, and watch yourself hit it in no time if you have the right skills!

You don’t have to travel from one office to another. You don’t have to go halfway across your city in agonizing traffic. You don’t even have to fly halfway across the world for better-earning opportunities. All you need is a good internet connection, Google, and the ability to sell your skills.

You can earn from the comfort of your bed. You can earn while vacationing in Bali. You can earn while spending time with your family. You can earn while slurping your favorite margarita in your favorite cafe. It is up to you. Don’t waste your time watching Netflix or TV after coming back home at 5 pm.

Sure, take a break, but also utilize this time to master the online world. Learn what works and what doesn’t. Figure out if you want to do freelancing, or set up an online business.

If you can build someone else’s company from 9 am to 5 pm, you can build something of your own from 5 pm to 2 am. Or do 9 to 5 during weekends for yourself! Your future-self is already thanking you for even considering this option.

Ended up in the wrong field? Don’t enjoy crunching numbers in your job but love painting? Want to pursue your passion, but your job isn’t allowing it? Leveraging the world of the internet, is your ticket out!

Even if your passion is baking pizzas, you can still make money from it. You don’t need to set up a restaurant: only an Instagram account and a small community of people in your area, who’d love to buy from you. And then bake a lot sell to them straight from your home!

This is just one of the many ways you can turn your passion into your income, using your skills and the glorious world of the internet. Do this until you start making more than your salary, and then you can say bubye to your job!

Stay one step ahead of the game. Most of the jobs are going to be replaced by AI, robots, or any other new alien technology in the future. Who knows! Yours could be one of them. Even if it is not, the balance will certainly shift towards those who know how to make $$$$ from the internet. Just watch how companies are moving away from Billboard Marketing to Facebook Marketing.

Obviously, some professions like Doctors and Engineers won’t necessarily go out of style, but the majority of the professions now exist online. Some of them didn’t even exist 20 years ago!

20th Century kids used to say that they want to be a doctor or engineer or an artist when they grow up. You’d soon find kids saying that they want to be a Youtuber or an Influencer or A blogger. So, if you get FOMO easily, you probably should start experimenting with the online world!

You are your own boss when you are working online. Even if you have clients who tell you what to do, you are still in control of who you want to work with, and what you want to do.

And hey, if you don’t like a particular “problem” client or the work they give you, you can always fire them! That is right. You aren’t tied to anyone or anything in the world of the internet. Of course, keep your commitments and don’t just go breaking up with every client you have. But the point is, if you don’t like a particular client, you now also have the power to “fire” someone.

Forget worrying about reaching on time. Forget reporting to a higher authority. Work whenever you want, wherever you want; however, you want. You can even scale your work and hire someone else to help with your workload! Be The Boss.

Don’t get me wrong. Making money online is not entirely a bed of roses. You may need to develop new habits — even a new, more disciplined schedule. The truth is, you will need to develop yourself a lot if you want to succeed in the online world.

Self-discipline. Perseverance. Self-belief. Confidence. Self-reliance. Self-accountability. In other words, you must develop your SELF. In every area possible, if you want to succeed on your own. Most people spend their entire lives working the same job. They never grow!

But for the online world, you need to continuously study to beat your competition. You need to learn to sell yourself and sell yourself better than your competition. Stay ahead of the trends, get certifications, have an authoritative online presence.

Since you’d be working online, part-time. You must learn to manage your time and balance it properly, instead of burning out. You can do it. You just need to cut back some of your less productive habits. And if you approach online earning opportunities with the right mindset, you may not only succeed financially but even personally.

And once you have successfully made your first dollar online, don’t forget to pat yourself on the back. Celebrate your small wins. When you hit your first $1000 online, don’t forget to celebrate even more. Work hard but party harder.

If you learn to properly balance your job, online earning, and social/family life, you can get the best of both worlds! Balance is achievable. Believe that and start your online journey!
