First Aid Kit

INTRODUCTION:

Every injury varies and requires a different treatment. Communication Design has played a vital role in the field of medicine ever-since packaging has come into being

(1). The information carried on the labels or the how to use a medicine; the info-graphics have saved many lives on its own

(2). As part of conscious and aware beings, our contributions towards betterment of a social structure is mandatory.

OBJECTIVE:

-What is the purpose of a first aid kit?

-And what should be placed in this kit?

-How functional should the packaging be?

-How effective should the packaging be?

-How will the instructions be?

ASSIGNMENT:

Designing a First Aid Kit and proposing its placement in the college.

RESEARCH:

I decided to make a general first aid kit for our art school so I designed a general first aid board, which had all the basic medicines in it for headache, nausea, diarrhea, fever, toothache and allergies. Since it is for an art school so it also has supplies for small injuries and this first aid board is supposed to be placed on the walls of every class. I decided not to use any materials like wood and plastic because they can be break very easily while taking from one place to another. I wanted my kit to be very convenient for the user so I made a thick fabric first aid board placed on the wall. It has three different sections. A section of two ointments and a scissor was placed in the front left with info-graphics on it’s right. Then there are two pockets beginning with the injuries section on the left which has 2 roller bandages, tape bandages and alcohol wipes. Then there is another section of medicines on the right which has 6 very commonly used medicines.

The total cost of this first aid board is 1200.
