I failed to start. Now what?

I was supposed to have written that book. I haven’t started yet.

I was supposed to have written and recorded that song . I haven’t

I was supposed to talk to my boss about my raise 5 months ago.. have postponed ever since

I was to write at least three blog posts three days a week.. its one year now and i have only 5 posts.

I was to organise a conference and make it happen.. 2 years have now passed.

I was to start a travel company.. one year has now passed.

I was to finish that clients job.. 3 months have passed

I was to to…….

The list goes on and on at the things that i was supposed to do but i haven’t.

Every time my mind gets to think of the things that i was supposed to do and haven’t done it makes me feel like a looser. That feeling of you failing yourself.Of you not following through with what you said you were going to do.

Should i sit here and feel sorry for myself about the things i didn’t do? Should i punish myself about the mistakes i did? Should i stop coming up with ideas because i know for certain that i am not going to execute on them?

The answer is a resounding no! The sun will still rise tomorrow as it it always does, and all the wishing in the world for the way things were, or for what they could have been, won’t change that. It won’t change how things are. People will continue growing, years will pass and change will come.

Regardless of what i did or did not do, i choose to start again. I choose to curve out on a different path. I choose to learn from my mistakes and start again.

I am letting go of perfection. Its better to do it and fail than not to do it at all. I vow to be consistent rather than perfect. I will write even when i don’t know what to write. I will start even when i am not ready, I will just do it!

Let not the disappointments of your past on things you didn’t do stop you from pursuing new goals. Start on a new direction and never look back!
