Lightly

She smiled into the rain, closing her eyes to let it pour down her soft skin that wasn’t sensitive to any of the drops traveling down her face. I watched her from under my umbrella; the way she giggled to herself like something was funny. It wasn’t funny, the way the sky cried to us. At least, I didn’t think it was, but she saw it differently. She always had a way of living so lightly, I’ve always envied that about her, the way she walks through puddles of rain like water never gave her chills. And here I am, thinking the sky was crying, while she dances in the tears.
